When I first decided to create a Medusa themed level, I thought of Role Playing Games (RPGs) and the typical looped animations for the enemies as you fight. I wanted to animate her moving to give the scene more life.
Then when i decided to create a Thanatos level, it felt like a no-brainer to create a looped animation for continuity purposes. This one was significantly more complex, with three layers to animate, having to keep the movement consistent between all three.
In addition to the above, I created a simpler animation. To keep the theme of Ancient Greece, I decided to make a timer for my levels with the appearance of a sundial. I studied a time lapse of a sundial to really understand how they worked and the appearance of the shadow.
