My loose plan for my FMP was to use the first half of the project
to sketch and design the game, followed by creating the majority of
the assets I needed. I have successfully carried this out and
I am now on my second half of the project, where I am coding and
piecing together my game in Unity. After this is done, I will be adding
music and some sound effects. An example of this is the book opening sound
for the wax tablet shaped pause menu!
More specific plans relate to my coding where I practiced code
during the first half. I looked into the code I would need to implement
for the game mechanics I wanted for scenes in my game. I used Youtube
tutorials and tested them in a Unity project created for practice.
This helped me in the second half of the project to have the code
pre-tested.
In the sketching portion of my project, I planned out my levels
by drawing the scenes and annotating them. This includes levels
which I decided not to include such as my grape stomping level.
This sketches would show the UI too, to express the appearance fully.
UI is the User Interface and refers to various screens, maps, menus
and other aspects of the screen that the player interacts with solely.
At this point in the project I am focused on making progress toward
the game code each week.
